Before you start

Get the install ready

You do not need to write code for this install. Copy the Harlo snippet from your dashboard, paste it exactly where the guide says, then publish your site.

Copy the Harlo install code from Dashboard -> Widget.

Make sure the Wix site is published and connected to the domain visitors use.

Open the Wix dashboard for the site. The visual editor alone is not enough.

Step by step

Add Harlo in Wix

Open Custom Code

In the Wix dashboard, open Settings. Find Custom Code under Development & integrations.

Create a Harlo code snippet

Click Add Custom Code. Paste the full Harlo code and name it Harlo widget so you can recognize it later.

Choose where Harlo loads

Choose All pages if Harlo should appear throughout your website. If you only want it on certain pages, select those pages one by one.

Choose a body placement when Wix asks where the code should go.

If Wix asks when the code should run, choose the option that runs when each page loads.

Place the code at Body - end

Set Place Code in to Body - end. This helps Harlo load after the rest of the page.

Apply and publish

Click Apply, then publish the site. Test the public website, not only the editor preview.

Verification

Confirm the widget is live

Open the published site in an incognito window.

Move between two Wix pages and confirm the chat button stays available.

Ask a test question and confirm the conversation appears in Harlo.

Troubleshooting

Fix the usual issues

Custom Code is unavailable

Wix usually requires a published site with a connected domain before Custom Code is available.

The widget only appears on one page

Reopen the Harlo snippet and confirm it is applied to All pages, or select every page where visitors should see it.

It works in preview but not live

Publish again and test the connected domain. Wix editor previews can behave differently from the public site.
