Get the install ready
You do not need to write code for this install. Copy the Harlo snippet from your dashboard, paste it exactly where the guide says, then publish your site.
Confirm your Squarespace plan includes Code Injection.
Decide whether Harlo should load site-wide or only on selected pages.
Step by step
Add Harlo in Squarespace
Open Code Injection
In Squarespace, open your website settings and find Code Injection.
Use the Footer field
Paste the full Harlo code into the Footer field. This adds Harlo near the bottom of supported pages.
Do not paste Harlo into Custom CSS.
Do not split the snippet into multiple fields.
Squarespace checkout pages may not support injected code.
Save the site settings
Click Save. Wait a moment for Squarespace to apply the change.
Check page-specific needs
If only one page should show Harlo, use that page's advanced code injection area instead of the site-wide Footer field.
Test the live site
Open the public website and confirm the Harlo chat button appears on the pages where customers ask questions.
Verification
Confirm the widget is live
Visit at least one normal content page and one conversion page.
Ask a realistic customer question and confirm the response uses the right information.
Check Dashboard -> Conversations for the test chat.

Fix the usual issues
Code Injection is missing
Confirm your Squarespace plan includes Code Injection and that you are editing the correct site.
The widget appears on public pages but not checkout
Squarespace does not support injected code on some checkout surfaces.
The widget loads twice
Search site-wide and page-level injection fields for duplicate Harlo snippets and keep only one.
